Default Positions and Target bearings.

I'm currently playing the Submarine school in SH4 and I'm doing the training for searching and destroying a merchant convoy. I have no problem avoiding the destroyer escorts and dept charges however, my issue is getting a target lock on a merchant ship to sink it. I've never been good at math so I could use some help with this. in the Navigation map, there are several tools like the (compass, ruler, and marker), how do I use these tools on the navigation map? In addition, once the radio officer gives the Bearing on a ship e.g. " bearing 031 long range" how do I point my sub in the right direction to get a good firing solution? I'm a novice at all of this. lol

You posted this in the subforum for Dangerous Waters, a completely different subgame/simulator. So you won't get many answers here.

You should have gone and posted it in here:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/forumdisplay.php?f=202

p.s. Check the "Sub Skipper's Bag of Tricks--Techniques, tactics, tutorials, videos" thread in there. It is stickied.

I'm sure this thread will be moved though once Jimbuna or on of the moderators find this.
