Having asked before, the answer was no and the only radar detection equipment I've seen in game is the APR for US subs.

I don't know who told you no, but I've had them detect my radar when using RSRDC. It isn't until about mid-1944, but it is in there.

I think Fred may be right! I use RFB plus RSRD, and have noticed that late in the war the Japanese deploy what could be considered a "Hunter/Killer" group. It consists of at least 2 Destroyers and a Cruiser that can either detect Radar emissions, or has Radar itself. I was stalking such a group, barely visible on the horizon, when the units abruptly changed course and made a mad dash in my direction! I crash dived and heard pinging not long after. There was no way they could have visually seen me.

Bonjour,
Yes, this is normal. You have been detected by the onboard radar on some Japanese units, not all. The detection range of the radar type 22 is about 17 km. To answer the original question, the Japanese vessels have no radar detector itself. However, they know when they are affected by your radar emissions, but not finely know where they come from. Then they suddenly start in the search. The change in attitude is obvious.
