Did I read that right? I have the old "Janes" Fleet Command and it's a great game. I remember Onkel having a secret awhile ago that turned out to be Sonalysts considering a new version of Fleet Command, but I have been away far too long and am so far out of the loop I have no clue whats going on anymore.
So, my old friends....plank owners and bubble-heads, help out this old sea dog and tell me WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED!!! ![]() Thanks CC ![]() |

I would so love to see Fleet Command reborn. Especially with better graphics and more controls for the units.
Can you even imagine how much success a game would have if someone made a WW II Fleet Command with all the ships and aircraft? Give the player generic controls for each unit, like the controls of Silent Service where on the bottom of the screen. Be able to order specific course changes, and speed changes including full stop, and be able to choose the load out of each ship and or aircraft. Realistic Sensors. Then if that was ever made they could do the same for WW I. |

And realistic torpedoes!...Hash cans!....Shell Ballistics!....Realistic engines...Wear and tear!...Realistic Sounds effects taking in consideration layers, salinity, temperature, water pressure, currents, see bottom, coast types, wrecks, weather, waves size, etc... all over the world, since it was a World War!....Because all the info is declassified now!...Hum, maybe not the salinity level in Asia in Monsoon season, and the depth of some areas and the type of sea floors!...Oh well, what about in the channel and the Atlantic only?...A tool to teach what real maritime warfare is about!...And a lot of math to crunch, because they did not have fast computer yet!...A dream come true!
