Gunslinger, the hardest mods to use are TDW's UIs. Once you figure out how to set them up you've got it made. And someday I hope to figure them out as well. LOL

Do one thing that's most important. Back up your SH5 every now and then to somewhere where it's safe. If you have a major computer glitz it'll all be safe and sound. I'm trying to recover mine after an XP meltdown back in December. I'm now running Windows 8.1 64bit and I hope it runs better than before.

Lol, glad I'm not the only one that's still learning! I still have a ways to go, but, I'm really liking these mods, just amazing work these guys have done. The "More crew commands" mod, the "Intelligent random AI", "FX update" and a few others just blow my mind. And what can I even say about "Open Horizons II"!!! Just mind blowing.

Generally speaking, modders that create the mods say PLEASE read the documentation.
Reading first is what us veteran subsimmers have been asking all along. Saves people time and server resources. We will gladly help as best as we can but we are more happy when others take the time to read the documentation first. Taking shortcuts may save time for you, but not other things as mentioned.

Mikemike47, very much agree! I think most CTD and other conflict issues have probably been addressed, it's just a matter of searching and reading. For example, I was getting a crash whenever I'd open the captain's log. Turned out I was opening it too early in the tutorial, problem solved by a quick search!!

When you put a mod in JSGME before you enable it for the first time.

Always right click your mouse on the mod and select "Explore" You must be able to see the "Data" folder. If you cannot then you are looking at a folder that has the "Data" folder in it so it will not work when enabled.

Take another look at the 7_4_2 base mod. Did you see the "Data" folder?

That was it, I looked in the "7.4.2" file and found the "Data folder", it was in another folder inside the main folder.

Thanks!!

Happy hunting!
