Default Really cool innovation!

A neighbour company from where I work has developped a pretty cool system that converts any 4x4 truck into a snowmobile in just 15 minutes (apparently).

The only thing is that it cost about 25 000$

Anyway, I bet that wehrmacht generals would have loved those on their truck during the russian winter.

Awesome!

My first thought was to comment that I saw something like that on a Ford Bronco forty years ago, but when I saw the video I was amazed. The tracks on the Bronco bolted on in place of the wheels, and the process took a bit longer than fifteen minutes.

Neat stuff.

IF it wasn't for the cost, it would make me virtually unstoppable.
And add about 12" more clearance to the Heep.

Yeah, I know, but I guess that price will drop if and when they go into mass production.

...after all, there's no engine or electronic components in this, so I don't see why it shouldn't drop.

That's a clever design.

I wonder what it does to the tires though?

Noob question: What are the chains underneath for?

Clever, seemingly simple, but clever.

"Tethers"

Hard to say about the tire wear without a better look at how they work.

I bet changing out a track is a royal pita.

The chains underneath are safety chains to make sure you don't walk out of the tracks.

IF the tracks are rubber, then nothing should happen to the tires as long as you don't go at highway speeds. Rubber on rubber will heat up, but I think for that to happen you need slippage.

Wolferz, after I pick the right 6 numbers, I will deliver you a set.

.

If you feel that generous, maybe bring a set with a new truck sitting in them? As long as the model begins with an "S", Sierra or Silverado.
