Default How decoys look on a DD map SH4 Adversarial mode

Hi All, Played an 'adversarial mode', multiplayer game night before last,

and was initially confused when I came across the scenario of a sub

dropping decoys....have it on vid not very polished effort I'm afraid.

But thought I would pass it on.

To save you watching whole video my enemy, Roucalla, drops decoys a

little after minute 6.40. It definitely pays to drop and dive under the

thermal layer if poss. Or just keep dropping decoys....it certainly confused

me lol vid at

Very cool. I enjoyed that. Can you not step out side and see for yourself if there is visual confirmation on the sighting or is it all map work?

I also wondered if you had tried playing like that but using the keyboard short cuts for steering so you did not have to waste to much time moving the cursor and clicking? I use the cursor for changing rooms but if you get used to using keyboard shortcuts everything gets much faster.

It seemed to me that once the decoys were launched there was one tract that moved while the other stayed still. Might want to key in on that.

Hi Merc, cheers for checking it out, didn't know if I was wasting my time or what.

It was only my 2nd time DD'ing, 1st time was a few months ago on Tunngle, even then I was very slow trying to sort out what did what.

This time I used UBI, with exactly the same ports etc as I use to host sh5.

Your suggestion is excellent, (key shortcuts), would certainly cut down on mouse work. Unfortunately there is nowhere to practice being a DD cdr. Other than in-game and of course 2 peeps necessary.

Not sure if you can use external camera, you can look from the bridge.

Yes I should have external cammed, will try next time.

And not 100 percent sure if sub silhouette was a visual siting or a sonar hit,
as the previous time I only recall seeing a red x.

cheers again

What kind of control do you have over dropping depth charges?
Can the depth be set, or is it just they explode where they explode?
Can you change patterns?

Anyway, looks interesting, to see things from the other side.

Hi Torpx, I only found two buttons for releasing either side throwing dc's or stern dc's. No chance at changing depths unless this is accounted for whilst pinging sub. As mentioned very limited user input and once you press dc release the dd does exactly that, whether you are over the sub or not.

I think it could be a great game.

Just one other thing I noted in searching for info was that only people who are able to host, can take the postion of DD cdr also games limited to 6 persons 4 subs and 2 DDcdrs. (or quite possibly 2 and 2).

At the moment I cant verify either of the last two statements.
