Not reporting a radio message

Hi all, salute

I have been a long time lurker here and a long to player of SH3

I recently bought a new PC and installed Sh3 and all the mods I used on my last pc to my new one, the problem is that when I am sailing I now longer get notified that I have received a radio message, no sound, just the text and my game no longer sets back to time 1 when this happens,

It is rather annoying and I wonder if there is a way to fix this, I have it set in SH3 Commander that when I receive a message it goes to 1 but in game this does not happen.

Here is my JSGME

Thank you,

SilentHuntsman

Unless I'm mistaken, there's a solution for it ... I'm just wondering where .... but hold out, there are many experienced captains here so you will get help soon.

And welcome to SubSim

There's a main.cfg file in your SH3 folder located in your Documents folder. Open it with notepad and in the section [TIME COMPRESSION] look for the line RadioReport. If you want the game to jump back to real time, write a number 1 after the equal sign. So your edited file should look like something like that now:
[TIME COMPRESSION]
TimeStop=0
RealTime=1
LandProximity=128
CriticalDamage=1
CrewEfficiency=1
AirEnemyDetected=1
SoundEffects=2
CharacterAnim=4
EnemyDetected=1
RadioReport=1
Particles=8
PrayState=64
HunterState=64
3DRender=256
Maximum=256
If you've Windows 7, don't forget to run SH3Commander as an administrator otherwise it doesn't work properly.
Hope this will help. Good luck!

Hi,

it sounds like item 15 of H.Sie's work is the 'problem':

Thanks for you responses,

I think LGN1 is right, the news reports are what I mainly get, but messages from BdU and other U-Boat's don't set time to one,

My Config was already set to 1 also,

It is not a game killer just annoying :(

Thanks for all your help,

I will continue to look for an answer. One more question, have I installed WB's Mission orders, Patrol orders and Warning orders in the right place or do I install them in SH3 Commander?

Cheers :)

Hi Silenthuntsman,

if the reason is H.Sie's mod you can disable the feature with the HsieOptionsSelector.exe coming with the mod.
