Default Awesome!

Hey guys, I doubt any of you remember me honestly but I stalked the forums about a year ago and than fell out of playing SH4.

Today I am back though we something special! 1.5 update installed! I am so excited, mainly because when I was here before I wanted some of the over haul mods and surface ships mods. Of course though majority are made for 1.5.

I am also debating about doing a youtube series of my travels and battles. If anyone would be interested let me know please.

Lastly, what mods do you guys suggest? I already plan on getting the Yamatoe, but for game overhaul mods I don't really remember them all that well... I do recall that realistic sinking (forget exact name) was pretty good.

Thanks guys!

Welcome back.
Most, including myself, recommend starting with one of the mega mods. TMO and RFB are the normal starting mods. Keep in mind, you can't run those two together. I like:
TMO
RSRDC
and other smaller mods
A lot of people like OTC
I'm experimenting with Travellor's mod now.

Be sure to read all the documentation with the mods before installing them. They all effect each other and the wrong mod installed in the wrong order will cause a game crash.

Be sure to use Jonesoft Generic Mod Enabler. It makes installing the mods quite easy.

Welcome back. TMO with RSRD seems to be the mod of choice nowadays.

The poor Yamatos. The obsolete samurai swords of the Japanese Navy but everybody guns for them.

I am going for the Yamato because ever since I saw that in game years ago I have dreamed of sailing it and blowing the crap out of a task force.

Baiscally I am never going to use a sub, for a while anyway go straight to the surface ships. I am thinking about getting this pack. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=188786

So with this pack, could you guys link me to those mods you mentioned?
I already have the mod installer thing and remember how to use it and all that.

If you like surface ship action, you'll be pleased to know the TSWSM alpha release will be out soon.

Sorry for the silly question but I'm new here; what does it mean Generic Mod Enabler? Is it required before installing any new mod?

JoneSoft Generic Mod Enabler.
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=3951

It's not required at all, but it is a very useful tool for managing mods for any game. It will tell you if a mod is going to conflict with one you already have installed, and it lets you take them back out again with no trouble.

As sailor steve said it is not require to load mods but when dealing with multiple mods and profiles it certainly makes it much easier to let GME do it for you.

You can load a set of mods in it then save that profile and then load a second set and save that so after you completed this you can simply load the profile not uninstall every mod and then reinstall the new set manually.
