Default Crash Dive with New Uis

The crash dive needs 20 sec to do something in SH 5 with New Uis. I think this should simulating the crew vacating the deck. But is that really reallisticly? I changed it to 15 sec but if a plane is incoming 15 are too long to take my sub down. What do you think i want to change it to a realistic number.

Its not just getting the watch crew below deck, all the vents have to be opened, the diesels have to be secured, electric motors have to be engaged and the "Christmas Tree" has to be all green before the tower goes under.

Twenty seconds seems like an eternity when you've got something bearing down on you, but there's a lot that has to happen in that 20 seconds.

Okay thanks guys.
Do you have it on 20 seconds or did you changed it?

Where do you change the crash dive time? I'm not saying its not realistic. But it almost seems like I can get under the water faster if I just use regular dive command. I hardly ever use crash dive for this reason.

Agreed. Perhaps the delay on regular dive needs to be extended?

You change crash dive time in the New Uis condig settings with the fileoptionseditor application

This. It's absurd that I can order a depth of 30 and level off in the same time a crash dive command would take to start responding.

I'd expect a crahsdive to be a rushed one .. being at least twice as fast as any normal dive command. As it is, I dont use crashdive ever .. it's a waste of 20 seconds instead of gaining time.
