Default Hi from new SHIII player

Hello,

New to SHIII.... Played Aces of the Deep a long time ago. Got the bug to do a sub-sim again. Did my research. Found this site and settled on SHIII. Purchased it through Steam.

Completed my first 10 patrols and just installed GWX3.0 to start my 11th. Also did my first transfer from St Nazaire to Lorient (1st flotilla to 2nd?). I now see I can change my boat from a VIIB to a type IX.

It's now March '41 for my career, so I'll probably do a few more patrols in the VII till the US joins the war. Then I'll switch to the IX and make some trips across the pond.

I really am super impressed with the massive change GWX3 brings to the stock game!

I think the next things for me to try is to load SH3Commander and the 4GB patch. From what I read these are quite worthwhile.

Welcome aboard....and yes SH3Commander is well worth it, in fact many of us here find it essential to have. You will also find a number of other mods, in the download section, for GWX that will add even more to your enjoyment of this great little sim.

PS....make sure you get your hands on the utility JSGME to add mods to SH3

@Radian

Welcome aboard and welcome to probably the finest o/l community on the interwebs You have stumbled on IMHO prolly the best mod there is for SH3, but please do get yourself SH3Commander ( not forgetting the cfg files needed for GWX) and grab that 4GB patch. It is essential for the bigger mods, such as IABLs Merchant Fleet Mod. Enjoy your stay and don't be a stranger

Best regards.
