I recommend getting used to the stock game so you can judge whether you like the changes a mod makes or not. Webster's GFO mod leaves basic game settings unchanged and is a good basis for fixing what doesn't work right while still leaving stock game behavior. After you are used to using the stock game, then you are qualified to judge mods for yourself.
I'm a TMO stalwart myself, but wouldn't recommend loading that up for a newbie any more than I'd recommend a new kayaker ripping through the Grand Canyon. ![]()
