One thing that has always bugged me, is the state of the sea swell within a harbour. It really should be close to zero, and then you hit the large swell as you leave the harbour protection walls/quays.
Is there a way of modding this, without making the sea conditions flat during departure/arrival times ? ![]() |

Yes it should, but no there isn't, at least as far as I know. This has always been one of my biggest complaints, especially because I've been saying it for seven years now and SH5 still has the problem.
Waves build up due to wind movement over thousands of miles of water. For this reason experienced sailors can tell when they've moved from the Atlantic into the English Channel even when out-of-sight of land, simply by the way the waves change height and length and feel. They call it "safe haven" or "safe harbor" for a reason If not exactly dead calm the water should be no more than a couple of inches of ripples, and that only if the wind is really howling. I'm pretty sure there is no fix, though.
