Default Hydrophone problem

Hello,

I'm using SHIII+GWX3+Philip thomsen sound mod.
But now, when I am submerged and I listen to the hydrophone I can't hear my sub screws sound anymore.
I remember that with the standard stock game, when you rotate the hydrophone to 180° you heared the sound of your own Sub.
But now nothing.
Is there a way to reinstate this feature?
Is there any Mod I could use for this?

Thanks

Hi I am having sound problems also When I run the stock version of SH3 I don't have a problem but with GWX expansion I only get the sound of empty water. I tried new drivers but all my other sound is good. I looked at Ubisoft forum and only found a suggestion to turn up the volume. I can't figure it out yet. If you learn something please let me Know. When I do time compression it registers a glitch which is normal letting me know there is something there but no way to locate from what direction the target is in. I am wondering if its a flaw in my mods?? If I find the answer I will tell you

As to Op, I believe most of the phones had dead zones aft. Iirc they were mounted on the deck forward of the tower, so you can't hear anything behind you.

Second post, not sure what your problem is exactly?

No, the hydrophones can hear in any direction, as sound travels around objects. The dead zone or "baffles" is caused by the noise of your own propellors, and you should be able to hear them, very loud.

Can you try one (or both) of the following and see if that fixes it?

- check that you're at least 10 meters deep. No sound will come out of the hydrophones if you're too close to the surface. I suppose IRL the hydrophone would still work (although you might only hear splash noises, etc. caused by waves), but the sim disables the hydrophone sound altogether when you're not deep enough.

- try and turn up the volume on the hydrophone. When you go to hydrophone station (press H), there should be a big black knob on the lower right-hand side (IIRC) of the hydrophone dial. You have to click on the top part of that knob, or alternatively drag and drop from bottom to top, which should increase the hydrophone volume. I think by default it starts at the lowest volume level - at the beginning of each patrol, I always turn it up.

Hope this will help.
