Yep, let's spy on everyone and jail them all! Makes sense to me.

Probably just election talk to steal some votes from the right wing which gains popularity.

So if you mindlessly click and a link and find yourself on Imaad's Infidel-Annihilator site for a few seconds...too bad?

I wouldn't give much credence to anything Sarkozy says until after the end of the elections (or never, depending on your point of view). Right now he just wants to get as many votes as possible and even threatened to exit the Schengen zone (common external borders, no internal borders), like that would change the number or nature of migrants (legal or otherwise).

Plus, the French have a wonderful Constitutional Council, which has been known to shoot down any far-fetched ideas on limiting human rights (like the recent law on punishing genocide denial, which was deemed unconstitutional).

I dont know i think we're there already when they instituted "hate" crimes. Why spend time and effort proving what the trigger man thought of his victim? Murder is a dispicable act all by itself punishment should be severe regardless of what the trigger man thinks.

Why not just jail everyone. That will make the spying much easier.

Such videos will certainly provoke a reaction, which why governments are afraid of it, and the Internet.

Why, then pack all the government in a sack and beat it and club it, you will always hit the right person.
I do not think Cheney or any other high-rank criminal will ever be sued, this is no constitutional state.
