The time of the politician is over, we don't need them, there a wast of space. We need experts in there fields like business & transport and get the job done and to hell with red tape.

People have been saying that since the days of the Roman Republic. However, replacing politicians only seems to create new ones. I'm afriad that we're stuck with them.

Only people who lie, steal and cheat want anything to do with the jobs. Add to that the incredibly stupid average human being who believes the political lies and you have our modern systems of democracy.

People who actually know how to solve problems are busy solving them, and have no interest in politics.

Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach or become politicians.

In fairness to the masses, there is now an entire industry built around political cheerleading which reduces the process to a sporting event. They love it because they are made to love it. You don't have to look further than this forum to see the results of that. In fact, with a US Presidential election cycle this year, this absurdity should be on full display.

I'm betting that old saying was made up by someone who didn't like being taught. I'm also learning to make the distinction between people who just "teach" and people who like helping others learn. I'm sure you're one of the latter.
