Default How to explain the difference in Periscope between U-boat and American Sub?

As the question, I find the color of cross line (sprites)in the central of U-boat periscope is black in daylight. At night it changed into green , it's marked and clearly for shooting in the evening.

American subs do not have the same appliacnes. Who can help me how to change the periscope of USS into the German style? Just only in the cross line (sprites).

Thanks a lot for your kind help.

Don't think it can be done. From what I can tell the German telemeter divisions are produced through the game's code. We can't alter them (like change their size), or get rid of them. They appear separate of the periscope "mask" image that defines the scopes edge and general opaque intensity of the scopes center.

The American telemeter divisions are directly a part of the periscope "mask" .dds image (the alpha channel part). Color or intensity can be changed only by coloring the main image and by the opaque shade of the alpha channel. There's no modifier to have the image switch between two different colored images for night/day use. What you see is what you get.

It could be possible to have the German telemeter divisions show for the American side if there were a specific entry in the menu_1024_768.ini file for them (I've not looked). But, beware of what you would have. They probably would not be adjustable for the Imperial unit of measurement, nor would they correctly adjust to the various resolutions/aspect ratios that the average gamers differ in today. In other words you could have them on the American scope but they would only be eye candy. There would be no accurate function to them at all (much like the telemeter divisions of the "stock" American scopes).
