I've not been playing SH5 for a long time, my regular play session got interrupted and I've left SH5 collect a thick layer of dust for some time, until now.
Re-installed the game, patched it and I'm good to go for a new sea adventure. Used to run some mods, I wish I kept the old SH5 folder before I trashed it, but I don't know what exactly. I've been reading through the mod forums and much have changed and I'm having difficulties spotting familiar mod names. I recall that there was a bug that hampered playing at high realism, because you could not get a correct range from the periscope. Don't believe this was ever fixed by Ubisoft along with other flaws with sonar/hydrophone and a few others I can't recall right now. I recall the periscope range bug got fixed by the community through a mod, but I've no idea what it was and I hope other stock problems have been fixed by now as well. In stead of digging through mods trying to figure out what mod fixes what problems, I hope through this post, the community can assist. What mods are "needed" to fix the bugs that remained in the stock game. Hi everyone, many years ago I enjoyed the stock SH3 and then even more so the grey wolves mod. And Im just about to get SH5 though after seeing all of the negativity on the forums I realise Im going to have to download a mod to resist the frustration of taking it back. Though like the OP, when I have a look at the mod threads there is something like 40-50 different mod bits... and I dont know what to bother getting, what not to, and whats not compatible with each other etc.
Without having played the game yet is there one singlular mod that fixes most/every thing? From trying to read through alot of it myself Im guessing most people are running the Magnum Opus mod, is that right? if not/or yes what else would people suggest for newcomers to the game? And Trevally, would I have to download and install those mods you suggest individually? I dont know how the campaign in SH5 is going to work, but one thing I did love about SH3 was how your crew/ship progressed and got upgraded, but was frustrated at how there were never any other u-boats you could meet up with or get in range of/sail with your own fleets for large battles etc. Thanks for any help |
