New player getting started SH5...HELP!!!

I'm new to sub sims and from what I've read so far, SH5 may not have been the best of the bunch to break in with. When I first downloaded the game and installed it, I got a message stating that the graphics card in my comp wasn't compatable with the game. I set the game settings as low as they would go to get the game to run.

I see a bunch of "patches" & "Mods" on this sight which I'll down load shortly. I've never used mods before so if someone can give me a few pointers on how to do it it would be great.

Finally, can someone tell me how to get up the ladder? LOL
