Default Annapolis?

Ahoy the Boat. I have currently finished my fourth war patrol for three ships sunk. No ship contacts made on previous three. Career began at start of War. I get a Bronze star and I have been given the option to end my sea career and transfer to Annapolis as a Submarine Instructor. I am just wondering if this totaly ends my game or do I return to active sometime in '43/'44. I selected no, and thus have lost renown as I wish to satisfy my blood lust further. Has anyone taken the post on the mainland and if so is dry land all it's crakted up to be. Sail away, Decks awash!

While I have SH4-UBM installed and pretty heavily modded I haven't played it that much to have an answer for you Pat. Sorry.

Keep checking back someone will post an answer.

Now I'm kinda curious what happens if you take Annapolis.

Ahoy me matey!!

Usually, a Navy invitation to instruction duty means that you're performing too bad given the minimum requirement per patrol (10,000GRTs). You just have to crank up the
AGRESSOR knob.. If you accept, you've just ended your career at sea. There is no instructions per se, but all you have to do, is to bring a big white board, a marker, and start teaching yourself on how to score more merc flesh down the pipe..

EDIT: Alternately, you may stick around the forum and consult useful threads stickied atop. I suggest you get the map (I don't know if you're playing stock or TMO (different issue), and start reading Sub skipper's bag of tricks...

Feel free to pop more questions
Regards,
CS2k9

If it had been a bad patrol, you wouldn't have gotten an award. I think the whole renoun/award/career thing is changed in some of the mods.

I have never retired or been relived in SH4, but I have been killed more than once.

Yes, but it is not only a matter of scoring well, but of how many patrols you have made. At least that is what I have been lead to believe. Very few skippers made more than 5 patrols in RL.

It would've been game over, always refuse, course it may be game over anyway, never know until you push the button. I've had great patrols and refused new boats after 3 times and got retired...
