Sky Disappeared!!!

My Dearest Kaleuns,

I was about 2 grids west of Ireland. I generally play the game on the map screen. I decided to check the turm if everything was OK up there and I saw this:

The same thing happened during the beginning of my patrol, while I was a few clicks west of Helgoland. But I just kept going thinking it was just a momentary mess up.

When this happens, the computer slows down to death and I can even hardly move the mouse cursor around. After a few moments: Boom! CTD!

Anybody has an idea?

It sounds like a graphics card related problem,

I never had such problem actually.

Yesterday I uninstalled the game because of mod conflicts and made a clean install. After this new install I get this problem.

I had previously (for 1-2 years), then such a pattern that you described in your first post, and this was due to high settings on the graphics card ... but of course there may be other explanations,

I have seen this before in my case it was caused by corrupting my "scene" file
it also happens when you re-install GWX and enable the GWX 16km or 32kn view mod (I think that's what it is called)
To clear the fault De-enable the mod then Re-Enable it again

Often can be sorted by rolling back Commander (if your using it).

These types of effects are a result of not enabling a mod while in port as Jim mentioned. The only thing you can do is to rollback SH3Cmdr and always enable mods while you're in port and never out at sea.
