Default SH5 launcher problem (keycode)

Hi,

I just installed SH5. Launched it, logged in and it asks for product key. I type it in and it says it's used. I mean, what the heck. Of course it's used as it has been binded my account. I don't understand. I thought I can install it as many times I like.

Have you changed your hardware after the last install? Some DRMs are known to detect hardware changes and thus think you are trying to install the product to multiple PCs.

I'm not sure did I install this after I got new PSU. Also I have a different 2GB RAM (other one from two 2GBs broke, got different manufacturer's RAM back)

Edit: I wonder, how I can play this game then if it's because those hardware changes. Probably have to send UBI preposterous amount of information, pictures with current newspaper etc.

People have hard time to understand that you need to use the cd key only.. ONCE. Every next time you reinstall the game, skip the account creation process and close any ubi site opening in your browser.. its use only for those who install the game for the first time. Close all ubi sites no matter how many times you are directed there, launch the game, patch it and when all done enter your already existing username and pass into the game launcher. Thats all.

I did that. Closed every UBI sites. Launched the game, patched it, entered already existing username and pass into the game launcher. And then it asked the keycode. Most likely problem is with those changed hardware pieces if SHV's DRM checks hardware.

Im master in reinstalling the game, I do it almost every month since release, but never ever got a problem with it. When the install is done, I just close all ubi spam that keep poping up, patch the game then enter the username and pass into the game launcher (not web browser/ubi web site) and thats it.

DRM has nothing to do with hardware or anything like... that was Starforce, the most stupid software ever invented.

Then I don't know what's the problem as I did everything exactly like you did.

Right, sent a message to ubi support:

Quote:
Hi,

I just installed Silent Hunter V. I logged in and it asked a keycode. I typed it in and all I got was a message: "Keycode already used". Could it be because I have got new PSU and 2GB RAM since the last install? If so, how am I able to play this game again?

Keycode if needed: XXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

Thank you!

I asked politely if there was a way to do that without proof of purchase. Luckily I was in that case told to write my ubisoft account name on the manual and take a picture. Support activated the game on my other ubi account. But as Myxale pointed out: the trouble I had to go through was quite ridiculous...

Hi
I have successfully installed the SH5 and start the game by clicking the "play" button. The game didn't pop up normally in a full screen size but just in 1/4 size of the monitor. The initial short video of SH5 comes out but keeps on flashing. If I move the mouse to the video, I can see the icons on the desktop flashing. After the film ends and the frustrating failure message would go out!

I am using Windows 7 64 bit with 8GB ram and X1950GT. It is not a big problem with the minimum requirement as stated in the check list after the installation.
And if I switch to the safe mode in the Windows 7 PC, the game seems go fine and the movie can play in a full screen mode.(of course I cannot play in the safe mode because the 3D engine couldn't start normally.)
I have also tried to install the game in another PC with Win XP & lower specification and everything goes fine.
