Default Quick question

Hi everyone. First off let me say there are some kick ass mods for SH4 on here. Now my question is I saw some sweet looking screenshots and I tried taking some but the bloody things never show up in the SH4 folder. Is there a mod or something so that I can take snaps through my scope or something?

HI and welcome aboard. I am not sure what the problem is. Someone will be along and help you. In my SH3 setup, the pictures are in the main SHIII folder. I don't think I have ever taken a picture in SH4 or 5, but I assume it must be the same.

How did you take them? Ctrl+F11 puts them in the SH4 folder. Alt+PrtScrn puts them in a clipboard that has to accessed with a paint or photo program.

At first I used the crtl+F11 method but when I went to the folder there was nothing there. Now I am using the prnt scrn and alt tabbing to my paint.net program and doing it that.

Okay. I don't know what could be wrong; I have screenshots in my SH4 folder all the time with no trouble.

I believe I had the same problem until I moved my install out of the PROGRAM folder and into a folder directley on my C: drive.

Default Screenshot location

Your SH4 program might be installed on drive "X" but your screenshot is delivered to your C: drive. I forget the folder it's in, possibly "My Document" or "User" etc.

If you look at the radio text box in your game (i.e. where all the crew "speech" is shown) when you take your screenshot it shows you exactly where the screenshot is.

Hope this helps.

Ahoy NS
The reason why you can't see the screenshots is because they are BMP files. When you open the SH4 file (the big one) the BMP type files are not shown, but they are there. You will need to go into your SH4 file with a picture program to look at them like "Picture Gallery" or "Photoshop" then you can access them. They are in there!
I have a ton of screenshots in the SH4 file and I can't see them until I search the file with (I use) 'Photoshop'. Enjoy!

What on earth are you guys talking about??

Screenshots are always dumped in your SH4 install folder. And are always viewable in Windows image viewer...
But if or when your SH4 install is under Program Files... you'll have to look in c:\users\your username\your sh4 install folder name\... or something

Better move your SH4 install folder ASAP away from Program Files...

Hi Jan,
I think we are saying the same thing here, most everyone new to this game including me follows the game prompts when choosing the install path, even though you are absolutely correct on the C/SH4 install path. If the game is under C/Program files, The SH4 screenshots are in the SH4 install file but are not visible until you use a picture viewing program to access them. At least this was my experience. I took quite a few screenshots and then asked the same question on this forum and was told the same answer, to use Photoshop or windows pic viewer to actually be able to see them in the folder.
Squirrel, I hope you have been able to find your shots.
Cheers.
