Default Help needed.

Hello guys.
I am stuck with annoying problem that put halt on all my game playing and modding.

As I mentioned in other post - I decided to back up all my documents and re-install system in my PC (I suspected that it got some kind of worm in it even before I install SH5 for the first time ever).
So - I've spend about 20 hrs to back everything up and re-install windows Vista and now it's all healthy and fast again.

I installed SH5,
then 1.2 patch,
JSGME and even decided to unpack brand new mods from my downloads section to avoid any corruption from the "old" once that I've used before.

Planing to continue to work on my radar project I ignored all "eye candy" mods and install only things like TDW_UI, IRAI, Equipment_Update and some others that are important to boat functionality.

All excited I started the game and got CTD after loading some saved file.
"OK!" - I think, probably mods are different from save file. So I loaded auto save "enter the base". I did started the game but crashed afterwards pretty soon. I started unload mods trying to figure out which one is causing the problem. I ended up with empty mods list but NewUIs_TDC_6_5_1.
I know it was working just fine in previous installation.
Than I took closer look at the start screen:

As you see "exit Game" is actually overlapped by "Back" button that actually belongs to the "Submarine School" that looking sort of out of alignment. "Exit Game" does not highlights - so I can not exit game regular way. Have to go to Uplay or Ctr+Alt+Del.
Historical missions luck asteric mark (*) (what you see that seems like it - it's actually just another light fixture on background) and I don't see some other features in start menu that normally show up after you install NewUIs_TDC.
If you click on "Submarine School" it shows empty mission box with no info or image in it.

I've tried 6_5_0 ( I know it should not change anything but tried anyway)
I've un-install-reinstall the game cleaning every file and hidden folder I could find. I even re-install JSGME.
Still same thing and now I am stuck and pissed off royally

Do you guys have any suggestions of how to get out of this stupid situation ?

P.S. If I remove mod - screen looks normal "vanilla" and nothing overlaps or whatever.

Meanwhile I will answer my own questions . I've just look at Windows power button and there was updates waiting to be installed (like in any new system auto-check in first 24 hours). It looks like just.. 89 of them . Hopefully some missing DLL with take care of it..

Submarine school does not exist in any of my mods. Your installation is corrupt. Actually that main menu looks nothing like the main menu of NewUIs mod.

I agree with you but what to do to get it right? I just finished install all those 89 windows updated, and then another 17 - nothing change.
I put just one mode again using JSGME - version 6_5_1 - decided to ignore starting menu - clicked on "continue campaign" - CTD after loading.

I am more than sure it has something to do with game installation itself, not with the mod - but I uninstall everything already once.

Let me try one more time.. What is the best way to make sure non of the corrupt files sneak in into new installation?

I've seen JSGME 'hiccup' many times and leave files behind that it was supposed to remove. I don't think the app itself was the cause but rather the OS. I can't pinpoint what causes this to happen or why but when it does I have to reinstall SH5 to get everything 'clean' again. This problem seems to happen only on Win7 installations.

I was in Germany the last 8 days and had no access to my home system. I had my 'home away from home laptop' with me but I'm very limited what I can do with it. Without my home system there is little modding I can do It's very hard to mod also on a little 19" screen. I'm used to my dual monitor 30.5" LCDs at home. Makes things much easier to see/work.

Happy homecoming when you get back on purpose ... I really like your computer equipment ... when you want to change it for mine, okay?

I'm back home now (after a LONG 19 hrs of travel from Frankfurt yesterday due to thunderstorms. We had to divert to Detroit due to running low on fuel and then resume to our destination )

Uninstall game, launcher, deleted all the files and folders that were leftovers including hidden once, emptied recycle bin, restarted computer.
Made sure installation DVD does not have scratches or dust on it, installed the game, updated it to 1.2.0 without installing any mods started new campaign (1943 - Black whatever), left the port, travel about 100km, shoot at enemy airplane, came back, saved the game, exit the game. Took brand new version 6_5_1_, installed just this mod - got same freaking screen.

I just can't describe my frustration... I've discovered this issue at 18:40 last night, now it is 07:35 next morning... after hours and hours of installing/ uninstalling things I just about to give up the whole thing.
One of the major reasons I started with system restore - countless game crashes while auto-saving or trying to load saved game.
Now I have no game at all, unless I play without NewUIs_TDC and that's absolutely ridiculous - how I am going to finish radar repair and make it compatible without having most popular (and usable) mod in my list?

I don't know what to do anymore... Just some stupid brick wall, I swear...

A mod that fix the radar should be stand alone as not everybody use tdw ui, there are also other UI mods. And usually is good to mod without any other mods enabled, so you dont mix files. Made this mistakes few times, no more.

Have you set all exe files to run as administrator, sounds to me like JGSM is not set that way..

SH5 exe run as admin
JGSM run as admin...

sorry if this was stupid advice...

I am planning to make complex mod that will include all previous "fixes" like:
Periscopes
Round and Rod antennas
Hydrophone
Radar.
"Shnorkel" - hopefully with help.

Because it all was done and still in progress step by step and it is just silly to make extra mod for every time we got another piece of equipment fixed.

I don't want to promise anything at this point but I do believe in my heart that if anyone will help to right scripts connecting shnorkel to diesel engines (I am not a programmer believe it or not and I don't know any languages for this matter ) we'll be able to make shnorkel work the way it suppose to. At least I have desire to try.

Equipment got shared by every sub and accordingly by every UI as well. MOD for repaired equipment ( I did not come up with the name for mod - maybe you guys can help) will be built around work of TDW simply because it is most common UI at this moment. Also he is very well organized person, keeping very detailed logs and notes, and I love to work around people like him - it just makes everything lot easier. No needs for non-stop PM back and forth and so on.

If any incompatibility issue will come up - I will do my best to respond with comparable version of mode for such a specific case. There are not many UI there anyway. So if worst come to worst - 2 or 3 variations won't kill me.

We have exciting times ahead of us - with radar and shnorkel repaired, "Open Horizons" mod and new imported ships - game will reach totally new level of playability and enjoyment.

My friend - no need to apologize - you help and opinion is greatly appreciated.
After exhausting every option that could come to my exhausted mind I've decided MANUALLY install UI by replacing every file in every folder needed.
Yeap.. it took me about two hours but I did it and guess what - you are absolutely correct - JSGME is not installing some parts of this mod properly. It works just fine with everything else, but that "everything else" was just small mods.

Now I have TDC_New_UI_6_3_7 permanently embedded into my SH5 installation so I can't remove it even if I want to .

But it works just fine and all I need - fix what's wrong with JSGME and just top it off with newer version.

So - I will follow your advise and hopefully it will take care of issue that cost me 20 hrs of my life....

I've run JSGME as admin and same with SH5.exe - made attempt to install TDC_New_UI_6_5_1 - same crap. Overlaped text, "submarine school" wich is some stock option and now even more option menus on the screen that I can't even remove. Uninstall it using JSGME - everything normal, UI_6_3_7 takes over and runs just fine.
Something definitely happens during JSGME process - same version did not install correctly as well until I just did it manually.
I don't mind to install 6_5_1 this way and looks like I have to - but I am concern about other big mods and this whole situation is just stupid. Looks like JSGME is messing with come text-editable files. Maybe some encoding is missing in Windows system?

As for JSGME - I uninstall/reinstall it few times already in different spots - still same crap.

Never had any problems like this before system restoration.
