Default Pre-Alien!

The master himself puts hand on it.

However, Scott's original Alien is a movie legend. He risks losing a lot there, even more since the third Alien movie was boring and the fourth was a real desaster.

I personally do not need any more Alien movies, I would have preferred to hear news on "The everlasting war". At age 71, I wonder if Scott will ever finish that project, which is a real love of him.

Good to see Scott is more closely involved now.

Like I said, good to see that he's more closely involved now.

Gives me hope that it won't degrade into an epic slaughter with over-the-top effects, but turns out as something more substantial. Something that stays true to the original, and is a credit to his name.

I fail to see why a remake of Alien though if that's what it is.

Oh, a prequel. Sounds interesting but it will probably de-mystify the mystery of the first one and make it less ominous. Scott will probably deliver though.

It isnt a remake.

Like I said on the other thread, I dont really like the idea of having this happen before Alien. I just cant see what the plot could be.

I mean, there cant be any human survivors, because 'Alien' was the first case when human race encountered them.

Or maybe they make it happen before spacetravel, which would propably be something like AvP2 and that would suck alot. Tho, not saying it could not work, take the movie Split Second (if you havent seen it, WATCH IT ASAP) for example, that was very alien-ish and set to a similar enviroment as Predator 2 and it worked very well.

And last option I can think of would be a movie without humans, which of course would be pretty darn stupid.

Sky, you mean the "Forever War" by Joe Halderman right. That would make a fantastic movie.

I just read Forever Peace by Halderman and would recomend it.

As we speak, I've got a pile of pages next to me; it's like the fourth draft. It's a work in progress, but we're not dreaming it up anymore. We know what the story is. We're now actually trying to improve the three acts and make the characters better, build it up to something [we can shoot]. It's a work in progress, but we're actually making the film. There's no question about it, we're going to make the film.

Another prequel? What's up with hollywood these days? Not an original idea nowadays.

Here's and idea, how about you remake Starwars, episodes 1-3.

Aww come on, the 2 masters (Ridley Scott & H.R. Giger) put their heads together for another Alien film, it can't be bad.

Besides, there's a lot of questions to be answered from the first film that this will answer, like who are the species they found from the crashed ship they went to investigate.

And Ridley wanting to be true to the original Alien series (he doesn't exactly appreciate the AvP flicks) he wants to make another masterpiece, perfectionist that he is.
