I'm sure somewhere, someone has posted this link but I have to admit I haven't searched the thousands of threads on this site.
This is a link to a site that plays WWII music 24 hours a day. If you're only interested in the music and not the radio announcements, this might be ideal to run in the background while playing SH

Jimbuna made some music packs for SH3. It has all kinds of genres for those times. You can find them in the Subsim download section for SH3, soundfx section: they are called "SH3 Oggvorbis" followed by a sequence number. They also contain German songs so if you don't want that you'd have to do some pruning of those packs.
