Default The world has changed, eh?

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2010/...n-north-korea/

Quote:
The Obama administration got a new “shellacking” this morning, this one entirely voluntary. In the name of improving America’s image abroad, it sent three top officials from the State Department to Geneva’s U.N. Human Rights Council to be questioned about America’s human rights record by the likes of Cuba, Iran, and North Korea.
even north korea can criticize the US about its human rights now
the world has really changed

Quote:
North Korea said it was “concerned by systematic widespread violations committed by the United States at home and abroad.”

The only reason the US should be in the UN is the sit on the security counsel and veto everything.

The Allies formed the UN to prevent another major war... and it succeeded... it prevented actions against all the tyrants that sprung up after the war and needed to have their @$$es kicked.

If it wasn't for the UN I imagine the US would be at war with half the planet right now...

I have seldom heard of a greater justification for the UN.

Thanks.

You can have that war now... or later

... later being when the other side has far better weapons...

^Use that for familiarization.

If I remember correctly, those have been in use since WWI, and only international convention and pressure has prevented more widespread use of them.

With a good chance of said weapons to have been designed/manufactured/sold by you or your allies!

He who bows to a corrupt authority, becomes either abused or corrupt himself.

His financial policy and his foreign policy are my two main reasons why I am strictly against Obama. On the latter, he is different than Bush and the Neocons - but not one bit less stupid.

Or has that veto, do forget that Stalin's Russia and Mao's China were both on the Security Counsel at one time.

That dosn't prevent governments who don't fear the UN from building or using them.

All the more reason we should be able to slap some nasty penalties on such allies and enemies... but they are on the security counsel...

... and if they can do it we have to sell it to our SOBs because it counterbalances what they give to their SOBs.
