Default Inexhaustible compressed air

Well after a dozen thousand times of emerging and diving the compressed air level is always 100%.

Is this a bug? Is there any fix to it?

Not sure which way you mean it, if you mean you never lose any air, you probably don't have the realistic compressed air checked in your options setting.

If you're compressed air icon is lit up and won't go off even after you surface, that is a known bug, one that can't be fixed. You can correct it by simply saving and reloading your game.
However, if it truly reaches a 100% you shouldn't alive. Most agree that this bug happens more when you alt/tab a lot or keep writing over the same save

Check to see if you have Limited Compressed Air enabled or not. Good place to start the troubleshooting.

Compressed air is only used on emergency blows. Normal diving/emerging doesn't use it at all. Even though its not realistic.

Actually compressed air is used in other ways. If your compressor is damaged for one.

For instance, my compressor got damaged. I blew a few times to control my dive, but had about 50 % left saving. I still had to try to come up using manual settings or P key. Usually in an out of control dive you can come up using speed or the P key over manual adjustments. If those don't work, then you may have to blow tanks. However, your boat uses compressed air changing depths. If your compressor is damaged you use your air in the tanks anytime you adjust depth either way, not just blowing tanks., once it runs out, you're out. If your compressor is damaged and you change depths a lot, you'll eventually see messages that your air is getting lower, even if you don't blow tanks. If you keep trying to come up to control a dive you may run out. These systems are connected in more ways we think.

Robin, are you adjusting your campaign settings in the office using the radio. You have to make changes there for campaign, not in the loading screen. The options at the loading screen don't work for campaign, must always use the radio in the office. Check the radio and see what your settings are.

Radio in the office checked
Limited compressed air was already set ON (i.e. realistic)

Something wrong on your end or missing something. Only issue with CO2 was running out on the surface, game somehows still sees you as dived, thus you run out. If yours never runs out at all dived no matter what you do, not sure, not a bug I've ever seen or heard about except not having the correct options set.

What version are you playing, at least 1.4, better 1.5,

Other thread said your using TMO/RSRD

Give the complete list or versions with patches.

I think you may be confusing compressed air with CO2. Two different things.

Probably right, haven't looked at those things in forever, but seems a seperate setting for CO2 and compressed air, make sure you put a check in both and bet that fixes it.

Armistead actually got into it but I'll add my piece because I've seen this personally a few times in the game.

The game does account for routine usage of compressed air, however the amount used is pretty small compared to say an emergency blow so it doesnt register on the meter, it should but it does. However, if you pay attention after a long dive, esp if you went deep and changed depth, after you surface and get moving, your officer will report "Compressed Air at 100% sir" this is because you got on the surface and your compressor went into action, restoring your compressed air reserve.

Now, take some serious flooding and fight to maintain a depth, itll suck up your compressed air, enough youll see your reserve go down on the meter.Blowing ballast uses a ton of compressed air, so that will suck it up also.

I have witnessed this 3 or 4 times so can confirm.Oh yea, dont let your compressor get destroyed, wont have it to replenish your reserve.

So in a nut shell....

"routine" compressed air usage isnt enough to show on the "game" meter on the toolbar but air is used and if were under for a while etc youll get a report after surfacing a few minutes of your compressed air reserve being back at 100.

Non routine usage such as blowing ballast or fighting flooding will register on the meter.

Hmm...I use to play SH4 1.5 with TMO 2.0 + RSDC for a long time, no mistake with compressed air gauge, many long dives with a lot of depth changes show that compressed air decreases accordingly.

Blow out main ballast tanks is really for emergency only...
