Source of tax data taxfoundation.org [2005 data]

Source of election data CNN.com [2008 data]

Wouldent little events like I dunno hurricanes and oil well leaks skew the results a bit ?

This is one screwy graphic. I dont even understand by what they mean by Federal Spending per dollar of Federal Revenue. What do states send the money back if they dont spend it all?

Hell they dont even explain what red and blue represent.

How is an entire state identified as "democratic" or "republican"?

Party of the Governor?

Majority party in the state senate?

Electoral college history? That's what the graphic is based on. But is that really an accurate measure of a state? The electoral vote in one election?

Suppose the Governor and the State Senate majority are from different parties?

Is my state of Virginia democratic or republican? Depends on the term. Sometimes we have been democratic and other times republican.

Presidential election 2008 would be my guess:

Hiding in plain sight.

wonder what all the "clover" would have to do if you cut off their "gummet cheese"

Is that last one your comment on the first two, or an additional prediction?

The way it seemed to be said was that it is "this subject is cool", not the "its gonna be cold"

I believe the line "Federal Spending Per Dollar of Federal Taxes" reflects the amount of money spent by the federal government in the state vs compared to the amount collected by the feds.

So states where it is 2.00, that means the feds are spending twice as much money in the state as they are getting from the state in taxes.
