For those who do not know what the EAS Or Emergency Alert System is look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emergency_Alert_System (Noncontroversial topic = Ok to use Wiki as info)
Mainly is that strange sound you hear on TV As they do the tests. The reason for the sounds is so that Other stations EAS equipment tuned into it will know what to rebroadcast. The chain is supposed to continue and within 10 minutes the entire country able to listen in to the President or a Singular source. Of course that has never happened and most of the time it is activated locally for local emergencies, Amber Alerts, and Weather events. Have you ever wondered tho what a BAD situation's EAS might sound like. I wondered that myself multiple times so I was excited when I found a group of videos from several youtube members about fictional EAS Situations. These are created from a mix of programs and audio creators Text to speech and video creation software. Obviously they are fake. Some I believe are recreations based on NWS Text and other sources but none of them came from the EAS itself. Which is um good because I rather not have by brains eaten by a Zombie... Speaking of which it seems to be everything from the silly Zombie To the recent To to the storm To the horrific For a great deal of other fictional simulations see http://www.youtube.com/user/theEASexperience#g/u and http://www.youtube.com/user/EASvideocreator#g/u To me these videos are a cold terror without emotion that makes you think. What if I was there? Some of the situations are downright horrific while others are sudden and terrifying without the use of video scenes just text on various color backgrounds. Anyone else into these fictional EAS simulations? |
