CTD - sinking ships in harbour

Hello fellow captains

I've been looking around the forum a bit but in the vastness of the sea I might have missed this:

Am I the only one that cannot sink ships in harbour? If I do the game will crash soon after. I have tried both small merchants and HMS Ark Royal. Sinking Ark Royal messes up the game in strange ways. First it keeps saying there is a capital ship spotted but none can be found and then it crashes.

I have no idea why I didn't just stick with SH4
