Indeed - not sure why it took so damn long. But 6 months is an exaggeration.

Foriegen contries were offering help on nearly day one April 20 of 2010.

They were prohobited due to some law written decades ago (Jones Act) controlling foriegen ships in national waters and the forigen aid was rejected. Rejected in wrighting no less.

Obama (at the time) refuesed to wave this law. The law has been waved in the past and all Obama had to do was to 'say' it was waved and invite our 'allies' to help.

But I am assuming that at the time the fed's figured that they could get this thing under control without outside help and look the hero. They guessed wrong.

Yea I got my timeline a little screwed up so its been 3 months and a few days.
