Default Still no hope of improving framerate?

I've been playing in 1300x786 for a while and I would love to turn up some graphics options but the framerate is barely ok now.

HELP!!

Well there are others who report better FPS after the patch, but this is IMO very system dependent.
You for instance may have too many things/tasks running in the background which can interfere and or slow it down. You could also have adware, spyware or such that will also affect a program's performance.

Well, I have a nVidea card and I was wondering if someone had came up with a fix

Go to your SH5 folder in my documents , the one with youer save game files . Look for the C:\Users\*****\Documents\SH5\data\cfg\GFX settings folder . Add a comment line to whatever you think might help frame rates if not used in game .
EG: WaterQuality=;1
add the ; in front of the number .

That's the same as the in-game options, which I have been tweaking for a good ration but I'm wondering about things like the nVidea control panel options

I find that having Shadows on max is a real FPS killer. I think overall frames are better inside the sub for me.

Impreved FPS nad graohics effects are visible only for single-core processer users.

Are ya'll serious!? You don't even get that much FPS at all? I have a 9800 GT just because I needed to take a small step up before I get a job this summer and buy the computer of my dreams.. but I still get 40 FPS on almost everything maxed out, no joke. Of course, I overclocked just a bit but not too much. Not even to equal a nVida 2 series graphics card. I don't know whats wrong with all yours.

Which do you prefer?
Gameplay or framerate

Go into game files C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\data\Env\sea paramaters and change theSeaSpeed to SeaSpeed=0.100000 on all 4 SeaSpeeds . See if you get a better frame rate .

All this worked, but it's not as much as I prefer

Both actually, they are all equally important.

My framerates were not all that good, too, but then I realised that I had my graphics settings on custom. I changed them to medium and framerates improved considerably. It might not work for you, but try it. You can experiment with adjustments afterwards.
