anyone know where the button is for the camera to take recon photos or am i misinterpreting the mission

First, you must lock onto a ship in the enemy harbor. The button will appear to take a recon photo.

If you have the DarkWraith UI mod installed, or any mod that eliminates the "break lock" text on a target, it eliminates the requisite "recon" button as well.

Disable all relevant mods and replay. Beware, remember the order in which your various UI mods were enabled...I disabled them for this mission and when I tried to re-enable it took several attempts to get the correct order of overwrite (more often than not, UI was glitched).
