Transfer flotilla

Hello fellow sub'ers!!

1st post here so forgive me if this has been up before.

I started out career mode, did a couple of patrols and I'm now at June 1940. I started out in 1st flotilla at Willhelmshaven and now i want to transfer to the 2nd flotilla to try out the IX Type submarine.

But I can only apply for the 7th flotilla. Why? I read the manual and it mentions nothing of restrictions for flotillas. Does the 2nd flotilla only become available later in the career?

In oktober 1940 the 2. Flotilla will be available to you.

Ty all and thanks for the reply.

You are of course right. I got the option to transfer to 2nd after a couple of more patrols.

The manual just led me to believe that the 2nd flotilla was founded en 1939 and thus available in game from that time.
