Hate to sound rude, but I have just noticed my signature picture has gone! I dont remember removing it,so somebody has removed it for me.If its something to do with size it wasnt THAT big,and I have had it weeks now without anyone saying anything.

Chances are the website thats hosting the image has either renamed the file, or changed its location.

They can see any unauthorised file access in their server logs, if somone noticed it being accessed by anything other than one of thier own website pages, they will do something about it.
Some people take offence to "link theft", especially if you dont have permission to use the image from its owner.

I'd suggest getting yourself an image hosting service, theres plenty around that are free , then you wont need to worry about it.

You've kinda shot yourself in the foot because I had a signature that was half the size of that and got told to reduce it. Now you've made a post about it I'd expect the same to happen to you, maybe not. At the end of the day, the reasoning on restricted size is that people don't want to scroll through threads endlessly because people have got bigger sigs than the space their actual posts take up.

A tip. Get yourself a Photobucket account, save the image you like from that paintings site on your desktop or wherever, then upload it to Photobucket and use their editing options to reduce the size. Voila, problem solved for you, and for those who risk wearing out their mouse wheels.

Also, you reduce the size by one third, you can get 3 or 4 of those pics in side by side.

I'll look into that, thanks.Hope the mods here let me keep THIS one for the time being though,I mean its not THAT big, most of the screenshots in here are far bigger and are a pain to scroll through all of them.

I will see how things go while I try and get a photobucket account set up,they may let me keep it.If anyone complains though I will get on it right away.

Just shrink it a bit, and see what happens.

Like I said,I need to get some editing software or a host like photobucket to sort it out.Until then I cant shrink or do anything else with it,to MY knowledge that is.I certainly cant do it tonight as I need to go to bed shortly (yawn)

Besides the apparent size suggestion above, to which not many people (including myself) strictly adhere, it's also always nice to look at it this way: Is the size of the signature a distraction when it appears on the same page several times in a row? You know there's got to be something wrong if the thread looks like a wall of signatures with a few lines of text here and there. Personally I just block the distracting signatures, a three-mouseclick operation with Opera.

I use Paint.net. It's cheap (as in free), easy to use and does the basic editing stuff.

Imageshack has always been a favorite of mine. On a side note though - Love the new pic, Paul! Not sure where you got it from but it's used as the cover art from "Operation Drumbeat" which I'm currently reading and would HIGHLY recommend to anyone!
