well if its in i have never seen one. But no i dont believe this is in stock sh-5. I dont think its hard to do this one. It just needs an escort sailing to out to the harbour and back to simulate this.

Something related, I don't see any minefields or subnets either. They don't seem to be in stock SH5. The Ordnance files are in there, I created the respective roster entries too. But the Mission Editor crashes on startup, any luck with that yet?

I think there are escorts in harbour which are the ships which keep getting in the way most of the time. They sort of zig zag in front of you to be as annoying as possible. They also have a tendency to crash into your sub if you arent paying attention.
I swear they are manned by saboteurs! |

According to the manual one should be able to radio for escorts near German harbours. It's not in the game just as a load of other "promised" features that got dumped.

Whats funny is that we even expect it to work! PS: An idea for the harbour escorts is if they had something to distingish them as such, like a sort of flashing caution light or they made a siren type sound or bull-horn...or something. Last edited by Coldcall; 03-16-10 at 03:24 PM. |

go close to an escort and send a contact report.. about 25% of the time, one will start to follow you all the way to whereever your patrol is and most likely run aground and crash.. and... wait for it... it works on enemy escorts too!!! i was able to get an entire enemy task force to escort me LOLOL, they follow at a fixed point say 10 km or 4 km away and follow your every move

LOL, so it's the contact reports that triggers the "ghost" destroyers that follow me from time to time.

love to be met by an old smokin tugboat or trawler. old harbour work boats fitted with flak guns.
[what were they called R-boats, or Raum boats????] talking of that, itd be great to have nets and minefields in the game. |
