[WIP] Fleetboat Sinking Messages
I have about 900 Messages that should simulate fleet boat traffic reporting sinkings by date, ship sunk, and the boats current Captain. Messages are from record of enemy ships sunk in the Pacific WWII theater by submarine as compiled by JANAC (Joint Army Navy Assessment Committee). So the accuracy should be represented well.
I just need to finish the formating test them in game and make sure they are presented correctly. By that I mean the goal is an emersion text mod. Example content: USS Bluegill SS-242 Radio Traffic X Sunk Honan Maru Tanker 5,542 X Eric Barr X USS Pomfret SS-391 Radio Traffic X Sunk Tsuyama maru Passenger Cargo 6,962 X Sunk Atlas Maru Passenger Cargo 7,347 X Sunk Hanburg Maru Passenger Cargo 5,271 X J.H. Hess Something along those lines. Comments on the formatting are welcome. This will not be a jsgme mod, it's text lines you can copy and paste into your messages file. Besides, I tried to keep up with all the optional messages in mods with RL_E for SHIII and it grew into a monster.

Have been collecting messages too and use Excel spreadsheet to format and sort the lines before exporting into a TAB-format. Works very well and ensures there'll be no repeating lines... Almost done - there will be about 1025 total msg.
Included with the intended msg's I put them together with an additional 100 or so news-operational msg's that I think add a dash more life to the game. To find out what they are you'll have to d/l this when it's released. ![]() Here's a few samples: ![]() ![]()

That way once someone decides to use them and wants to edit that part a simple find/replace function will do it.
