Default What have they done with the crew managment.

SH-5 rocks and the bugs are really mimimal for me. But one thing i really miss is the crew magament. I mean the current crew management screen can hardly becalled crew managment but crew upgrade screen. I miss the fact that i can deside where crew will be myself. Also i dont like the fact that the main crew never goes to sleep like the did in sh-3/4. These guys must be on crystal meth or something. I really dont understand why they took stuff like this out when it worked perfecly. I mean dont fix it if it aint broken right?

Right. It needs SH4's Crew Management System and SH3's Crew Management Screen. I can't see this one, of course, but enough screen shots and descriptions have been posted to tell my I don't like it.

Does any of the crew even have names, besides the obvious officers?

SH5's crew management system suffers from a bad case of nonexistence. All you can do is spend promotion points on officers' abilities - the rest of the crew is just extras.

I agree, I'd love SHIII and 4's crew management.

Not crystal meth. Heroin. This was ascertained in an earlier player review.
I know that heroin is that good on keeping you awake, but since when was SH5 about realism..

That's not quite true, there's a guy right outside the forward torpedo room that does NOTHING but sleep. Oh sure, every once and a while he sits up and asks "Is the war over?" but then he goes right back to sleep!

"the inteligent solves problems, the wise avoid them"

I was talking about the MAIN crew. In other words the crew you can interact with.

Also what wiseguy desided that i cannot give medals to my crew myself? I am he captain is it not up to me to deside when and what medals the crew get? Well they seem to only be able to get the iron cross anyway.
Dont get me wrong , i love the game but the way the crew is set up in sh-5 just doesnt deserve to be called crew management. I understand that certain things dont make it into the game. But i keep being suprised they actually take perfectly good features out of it that were in the game in the first place!!

SH-5 rocks
agreed
like a "rock" thrown in the ocean
it sinks and reamains motionless there at the botton... at least untill someone decides to dive, pick it up and move it again (that be the modders, working VERY hard to fix it)

You can give medals to your crew. Not sure if they have to be eligible, or you only have so many, but a small cross will appear in the bottom right hand corner of their photo when you view their details. Click it and voila, they have a knight's cross.

I believe that's all they can get.

I felt like more of a Captain of a ship when there was more men to toy around with and micromanage.

The real problem with this issue is that i dont see anyone making a mod to adress this since it might be way to hard.
