Default Disabling the Orange Icon on Surface

Hi all

Anyone knows a quick way to find a "blank" UIcon.dds or whatever that orange floating thing is called that points out my position on the surface?

Stock 1.5 version here.

Thanks!

My understanding was deleting it was the solution? Worth a try until someone more knowledgeable turns up.

Matt, I might try that but was worried it would show up as GFX error in game.

Morph, I'll do that because I like the external view, but much too often the external view tells me too clear a picture on how enemy ships are positioned relative to my Submarine. Without the icon on the surface it becomes less magical.

The orange arrow doesn't make me feel like I'm cheating. I take in sound bearings and other data to picture the situation. Sound plays a more critical role. You hear high speed screws from the left, pinging from the right.... However, I would like to disable it to get cleaner screenies.

It'd be actually nice if there was a mod which started the free-roaming camera a hundred meters or more away from your Sub. I really like zooming up and watching the hits in the convoy while my sub is diving away to safety, but it requires an actual effort to move the camera so that you lose track of your own position and become a "specator" without gaining unrealistic information.

But getting rid of the Umark icon was definitly an improvement.
