Default Ggggrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

Yesterday, while patrolling the eastern coast of Britain, I stumbled across both an undefended convoy and a well-defended one headed in opposite directions, so naturally I went underwater to avoid the escorts, while moving slowly north to follow the undefended convoy.

After a little while, the warships were upwards of 15 miles away, so I came to the surface, went to full speed and ran down the northbound merchants, steaming my way into the middle of the convoy and sinking 4 ships before running out of ammo, bringing my total tonnage from 5k to about 27k in the process. Job well done, I thought, and saved the game, before turning round to go resupply at Heligoland. On the way there, the game autosaved, and I saved again after resupplying and plotting a course back to The Wash.

After making this last save, I exited the game, and went to watch the football (Cracking match. Milan learnt a lesson.)

I just loaded SH5 back up, hoping to take advantage of my fully stocked ammunition store, only to find that there are no saves from after I encountered the convoy. The most recent one is from a little while before discovering the two convoys. Obviously I am extremely pissed off about this.

Has anyone else had this? Is there any way to access my later saves?

PS: Great work Ubisoft. You've managed to make Rolf from Wurm look competent by comparison.

Turn off online saving of your games (the cogwheel in the upper right corner of the launcher). This feature seems to be porked and a lot of gamers have already lost SH5 savegames because of this.

Thanks, I'll give it a try this way. Gues their hamster must've died or somesuch

One thing though: I've turned online saving off, but when I boot the game up, it still says 'saved games synchronised from server'. What's that about?

Don't know, you can't turn that one off I think.
