Default "Gentlemen..!

...We're stuck down here, we have a bunch of tommies sh!tting all over us but on the bright side we're already at the bottom so they cant do much more!"
I could almost hear one of my officers saying that!
And i have to thank Thomsen and his "No instant death mod" for this experience!
I was attacking a Large Convoy inbound to England at about the shallowest point of Rockall Bank, May 1941, U-27 IXB boat. I fetched myself 2 Large Merchants, a Large Tanker and an Ore Carrier. Now its time for my way out.
As usual, the DDs picked me and came to depth charge me. After a couple of mins i was pleasantly surprised to see that only one DD came to DC me.
It did and at about the 3rd or 4th pass, a lucky strike destroyed both my propellers and my compressor.
Normally that would have killed me but thanks to Thomsen it didnt.
They depth charged the heck out of me but they scored no other hits but some minor, distant ones. After some hours, they left. It took me several additional hours to get back to the surface, hit ESC, "Exit Patrol" and fetch me about 700 reknown.
Unrealistic? Maybe
Exciting? YES!

Here you are. Enjoy your slow, painfull death! Or at least watch your crew do so...

As about Rockall bank, why not?
It may be shallow but its the path of many ONS, ON and some other Large Convoys. And its far more safer than hunting around the English coasts.
Plus, shallows sometimes saved my butt when i had uncontrollable flooding.

Hmmm. Sounds like the shallows of AM19.

Sometimes going into those shallows is the only way to get a shot.
SH3 sometimes lays out a "Here And Now or, Maybe Never scenario.

OK, Lt, how about this one:
You lost your boat, but saved the crew to be rescued.
Sorry, this is 1941, no more IXBs are available but, we do have a shiny new IXC for you.

How about it?

Hmm... There's another option:
Wait for my ol' rusty boat to be fixed!
Considering that the next patrol is scheduled for the last days of June, i think that my next patrol will be with ol' rusty again but with shiny new propellers and a nice compressor!

PS: I actually dont know how much time it takes to repair such damages but if it takes long, for the sake of realism, ill accept your offer.
