Default [REQ] Firing torpedoes at an angle (25°) for external tubes on the Narwhal

mare Island CA

In Game

Here's what we need :

right now the torpedoes appear and move along the axis of the sub when fired.

the external rear tubes on the narwhal and on the Class T submarines are angled outwards roughly 25 ° : > and not =

so for now the tubes have been placed on either side of the stairs and not on the other side of the railing as in RL.

in order to be able to place the 3D model of the external tubes on the Narwhal at their correst position and angle, I need the torpedo to fire at the same angle, otherwise it's spawned partly outside the tube.

can anyone help ?

I've tried to work with this with the 688i mod. If I remember correctly the torpedo tubes on a 688 are angled out at 7 degrees. In the model they're angled correctly but I think it's something hard coded. This is kinda the same issue that has been holding up a VLS mod.

so they'll fire straight no matter what ?

I believe so. The model of the tubes like I said previously are canted outwards 7º. I learned that the Torpedo Tube Muzzle Door determines where the torpedo is launched from, or so it seems. I haven't revisited this for some time now though. This could be a reason why the Narwhal was not put into the game. Also none of the surface ships fire torpedoes even though they have the launchers modeled. Could be a problem the dev team didn't have time to work on.

Was. I started out as a Seaman driving the boat. Then I made Radioman and manned the ESM stack with a little bit of time spent learning the radio room too. Good times had by all!

Nope, that was way before my time. I joined the boat for her first patrol in the Pacific In Jan 03. If i remember correctly though the San Juan incident happen when KY was coming back from her sea trials. And just like a trophy wife all her problems were on the inside lol.

EDIT: Looked up the collision info, wth was a Trident doing up by Long Island in 98???
