Default The White 1 2 3 in screen shots.

In the screen shots we see circles with the numbers 1,2 and 3. I read somewhere that no one knew exactly what they were, well i think I do.
I was watching one of the videos about gameplay and noticed one of the dots flick on then off. So I watched the movie frame by frame to figure out what the player was doing with the mouse. He was switching the torpedo speed setting between fast and medium. 1 for fast, 2 for medium, and 3 for slow.

This makes me think that the "In-game footage" we have seen is infact just a tutorial, or even a beta maybe ?

Just thought it was worth putting up, sorry if you guys have already figured it out before.

Apparently, it's a hand-holding option for those who don't want to do pure manual targeting or pure automatic.

Quote:
Ubisoft has tried to make things easier when aiming and firing. Launching a torpedo at a moving target means you need to aim ahead of the target, and unless you're at point-blank range, a hit can be difficult to achieve. In Silent Hunter 5 your tactical map will show the trajectories of your torpedo and the targeted ship, and each trajectory has several numbered reticles. Lining up your ship so that these numbers overlap will maximise the chance of a direct hit.

At first I thought it was other Boats in the wolfpack. Now I think it's the officers of the watch as they go about their business aboard the sub. SH5 is gonna be awesome!!

I can't wait for Neal's interview later today. I only wish he'd had a competition for one member of the community to win a chance to ask The Devs one question. I know what I woulda asked?

I trust Neal's questions a heck of a lot more than the softball questions they're cherry picking from the dreck over on the Ubi forums.

You've been over there to huh? I checked it out All last night at work, and what a bunch of "Will there be water in this game?" type questions. That Q and A thread was hilarious.
People asking stuff that has no bearing what so ever about anything anyone would want to know, and those are the questions that got full and complete answers.
Where as the simple question " Will there be more than the type VII and its variants, was pretty much dodged like a fat chick at closing time.

I hear ya. I like to think that over here at Subsim.com we like to play a little more 'hardball'.

Regardless of the 'hardball' questions asked, Dan's team are only or will only divulge information that's in their gameplan.

They ain't going to tell you what they don't want to.

That's called a marketing plan or perhaps UBI even have them on a NDA.

Very true, and I think it will be very telling to see what they don't answer, as well as what they do.

I think it is safe to say that if they DONT answer a specific question then it is not in there.
