Default [REL] Ship Names January 2010

Well, it's taken me seemingly forever (actually five months since August), but I've finally made some progress.

I haven't added too many ships (around 300), which brings the total to about 9800, but I found a lot of information on the ships I had assigned to IABL's models, and moved a lot of stuff around to more appropriate locations. Now I'll finally be able to start going down the list I have of 6000 or so more waiting to be researched.

As always, to install simply replace the Cfg/Ship Names file in Program Files/SH3 Commander, and it will do the rest.

Hello !

The file is for the SH3 Commander, in conjunction with GWX3.0. When you return from patrol, you can read the names of your sunken ships in the Log-Book (you must playing GWX3.0 with SH3-Commander). And this MOD adds new ship names to the list.

Best regards,
Magic

Actually that's not quite true. SH3 Commander works with any version, including stock, and it's Commander that adds the names. I used GWX as a basis, because at the time I started it had more merchant ships than any other mod I looked at, but it works with anything. If your version doesn't have a ship that's on the Ship Names lists, nothing will happen. If you have a ship model that's not on my lists, then that ship either won't get a name at all or it will come off the Generic list.

No, because only SH3 Commander gives names to the ships you sink. I would do a version for SH4 but no one has done a mod that activates the Ship Naming function in that game (at least that I've found).

Also SH3 Commander does so many other wonderful things that I don't see why anyone would not want to use it.
