Default historic pictures: view through a UZO needed

hi there,

does anyone have historic pictures of a view through a UZO?

what is nearer to realism? the stock UZO view or the one that comes with OLC GUI and ACM GUI?

thanks ,
h.sie

To get a true image, you need a camera shot done through both eye pieces. I would imagine a lot of bi-focal shots are done through the one lense and then touched-up to look bi-focal or completely fake.

UZO is just binoculars with a stable base and some markings on it. That's it - anything looks through UZO just as it looks through binoculars. You should NOT have the oo shaped view in it, also you don'twant to take separate pictures through each glass - that would serve no purpose, as there was no technology known to turn these pictures into a quasi-3D view.

The real UZO had a reticle consisting ONLY of a vertical line through the center of the field of view. No markings at all, not even a horizontal line. Thus looking through it is the same as through any binoculars with a clear view, and seeing a vertical line fromn top to bottom. A lever on the right ocular allowed to make it fuorescent at night, so the vertical line could be seen in dim green in the dark.

Urfisch has (or had) a real UZO for sale here not long ago, in the thread he also posted some pictures of looking through it where you can see what I'm telling you.

A real UZO? I cringe to think of what one might sell for. I cringe even harder thinking about what I'd pay to get one, granted I had enough...
