Default AI Subs, Torpedos and Draw distance!

Cant stress this enough: SH3 lacked an AI controller for topeedos launched from PT boats, Subs & Escorts. (in Sh4 they had them only for Airctaft)
Its must have, just so long as the watch crew can call out torpedo wakes to give the player adequate time manouver.

Likewise we need AI for subs (friendly or allied) so we can finally have some actual wolfpack action - so long as its usage is kept in line with historical events.
Hostile RN AI subs would make for some interesting and hair raising stand offs also.

The Ubi Devs already have US subs modelled from SH5, so they just need to model a couple of Royal Navy subs, like the S & T classes, if they dont think there artists dont have time to make these modles - i'd suggest a Ubi Dev drops me a PM so I can create and send them some.
NO EXCUSES WILL BE ACCEPTED THIS TIME FELLAS
(if a Dan or another dev reads this - Im deadly serious about my offer)

Lastly, Was I the only one dissapointed with the 24km Horizon in SH4?
There is no point to have Huge Draw distance when the Sea is the only thing that actually gets rendered on the Horizon.
So many times in SH4, my watch yells 'ship spotted' yet I can see nothing until the ship is within 16k or so of my sub.
Not being able to witness smoke and ships creeping over the horizon really, really hurts immersion in a WW2 subsim.
As for buildings and Land mass, christ - in Sh4 you practically had to be in spitting distance before the engine bothered to render them..... not good at all.

Obviously there is the need for optimisation so a game will not choke performance on lower end systems and GPUs.
So if anything It would be nice if the Devs could give us some Draw distance settings in the Graphic options menu. (A la GTA IV)

Really looking forwared to SH5 - though Missus JU88 is expecting a baby in Q1 2010......so i hope Ill still have time to play it :rotfl:

I did most of my SH3 playing on those loooong nights when I was on "night watch". Had a nice little cozy setup for the young'n in the corner here. A bottle of warm milk a mere arm's length away should she murmur or stir.

heheh, Thanks jaeson - that is a little reassuring to say the least

BTW in passing (totally unrealted to Sh5) , i recently got in playing around with Poser and Daz studio (3d character animation) where 3d content is purchased and installed (somewhat messily in to a runtime directory)
After a few tests i found that JSGME does an AWESOME job for installing and managing this content.
That tool is a bloody life saver mate.
