Default Entering data into TDC

When manually targeting, I've read that you need to press the enter range and bearing button twice!
Why? DOes pressing it once only send the range, and the second send the bearing?

Well, you can see my video tutorial (the Dick O'Kane one, I think), where pressing the AoB send button once gave the TDC an erroneous reading and you can see the gyro angle change when you press it a second time. I have no idea why that happens, or whether the graphics are just lying to us. I have not heard from a bunch of people saying they miss if they only press the button once.

I've always only pressed once. I admit that when you press twice the TDC setting change again the second time. Weird.

As you watch the graphics, the first press gets the primary info correct but secondary info won't update visually until the second press. It is probably the case that only the visuals are in error, but since I don't use the automatic stopwatch course/speed thingy it makes little difference to me.

Say you start with a very dull 0 bearing 0 AOB 1000 range displayed on the TDC and you enter AOB 60. When you press "OK" for the AOB input the first time the little target ship dial will move to reflect this but the torpedo track arrow will still show the torpedo track angle from the previous solution hitting directly against the target's bow.

I really should check if the gyro angle changes between the first press and the second. I have a strong feeling that the little secondary arrow has nothing to do with the solution so it's a visual anomaly only.

Rockin'... yes, it was your video that actually brought it to my attention, but you're exactly right. If you don't press it twice, it's apt to be a faulty solution.
Strange. I find myself hitting enter twice on the keyboard at work now, and pressing POWER twice on my shaver and the TV remote too.
