GWX 3.0 GOLD issue/glitch

I have played gwx 3.0 gold for awhile, but 1 thing prevents me from starting my career's in 1939.. why is it that it starts on august 1st,a month before the war started, instead of september 1st, the day the war started? i just don't get it, it might be a glitch of some sort.

Its not a glitch.You can chose to start either at 1st september or 1st august.In SH3commander IIRC there is an option what month you want to start.SH3 engine howeever does not allow specific date just the month.This is done i belive to test out your sub, or if you want to get to some port while there is no war. You may wish to consult howeever the gwx manual.It will give you invaluable information.

If you use SH3Commander you can start on the 1st of any month during the war. Unfortunately the game only allows starts on the 1st of the month.

Get SH3Commander and get control over a lot of stuff.

GWX 3.0 August start allows you to position your boat in the Western Approaches prior to the 3rd of September. Makes it easier to get started on sinking ships.

I have had problems lately getting a Sept 1st start date also (using SH3 Commander 3.2). When starting a new career, if I choose Sept 1st, the game starts on Aug 1st. I can choose Oct 1st without a problem. This is very strange as in a couple of previous careers there was not a problem with choosing (and getting) Sept 1st.

no, i only have gwx 3.0 gold. yes i am stupid, i didn't know you could download sh3 commander with it, ill do it when i get home on the 12th, but can you change the starting month and/or date in sh3 commander? and how are they compatible? sorry for my incessant questions.

No, you are not stupid...don't be hard on yourself. You are simply seeking help and advice like so many other of us have done in the past.

You can download SH3 Commander and the associated CFG file from the GWX3.0 FF account link below my sig.

Your first patrol will commence at the beginning of a month but subsequent patrol dates will be dependant on any upgrades you purchase and how many days in port after each patrol you set SH3 Commander to.

WELCOME ABOARD, ryanglavin!

As TarJak said, the whole thing came about because Germany sent 14 u-boats out in advance on August 19, 1939, and a lot of us wished in writing that we could be part of that. With SH3 Commander you can:

1) Go out on a quick pre-war patrol and then set your days in base to 20 or so, and come out again on August 25, which gives you enough time to be on station when the war starts.

2) As was said, just set it to start your career on September 1.

Commander also does a host of other wonderful things you can't get anywhere else. It's the perfect companion piece to GWX3.
