Something tells me that one should invest in stock in companies that produce Aegis and THAAD.

I get this feeling they aint gonna do a thing... Theyd know theyd have lots of larger countrys on there tails, and theyr not the only ones with nukes. They appear just to want to act like a little kid and get attention.

Not really advocating this, but part of me thinks that we should drop a nuke of our own in one of their more sparsely populated areas, and say, "really?"

It's not just about the nukes, they are also threatening to use force against anyone who tries to stop their ships. Bluff or not? We shall see.

NK was always a time bomb. Looks like it's lifetime is ticking to the end. But whole world was waiting too long watching what will happen next there. And now we have it. An idiot with nuclear weapon threatening the world!

The x-th time - or was it already the y-th time? I fear I lost track a bit.

I wonder why this even makes headlines anymore.

Keep an eye on their proliferation, and blow it up for them where needed. Beyond that - ignore them.

Not sure whether it is that easy any more. If they have nukes they might want to use them. The system is on it's last legs (actually we have been told that for the last 20 years or so....). If/When NK runs out of options I'm not so sure they would be reasonable enough not to use them. "Fear the old men for they have nothing to lose". I just can't see the whole "elite" to go without taking as many with them as possible. Oh, and btw they don't care if their own people get nuked.

1. They now how to press the West's buttons.

2. They have been rational enough to survive and secure the regime for decades and avoid a suicidal war despite their blackmailing rethorics.

3. They are enthroning the tyrant's son.

Don't worry for them launching a war now. Proliferation is the big risk with NK - this is where we must counter them effectively, and proliferation is what makes a nuclear NK so dangerous. A war would cause terrible losses in life to the South Koreans, and probably destroy much Seoul, no doubt on that - but it would also be the suicide of the northern regime, for that war would be bloody as hell - but cannot be "won" by the North. And they know it, because -> see point 2 above.

I keep waiting for China to respond. If they won't reign their puppet in, they must like the show. After all, a potential war of nukes next door can't really be welcome, so they wait for the US to bankrupt itself trying to keep peace? And then what?

China has allowed a sanction bill that before they would not have allowed. And the last thing they want is hvaing an uncontrollable situation at their border like a hot war or a NK regime going amok. that NK no longer follows their order as an obedient vasall, is fact - and they do not like it, since they lost considerable ammounts of control of NK.

Agreed....but hopefully NK realising the support they have relied on for so long, not being there any longer, will make them realise how increasingly isolated they are becoming and make them think twice.
