can't play on xp

Hello, all. Best of the season to all of you and yours.

Recently bought a lovely new gaming rig. However, I can't play my dear old sh3 on XP. I get a "This Driver is Blocked due to compatability issues" message, referrin to the StarForce Protection driver.

Is there an XP patch for this?

Well... if you live in the US, and are willing to spend about 9 buck plus shipping, or add an extra 16 or so bucks to your order for Amazon's free shipping.

This version lacks that starforce protection.... and come preloaded with the 1.4 patch. I just bought it about 3 weeks ago, myself (along with GTR2). The picture is a bit betraying, the packaging is about as big as a CD and perfectly square... the picture shown is stretched a bit in the horizontal... Also, nothing in the box, except the 2 disk... Sh2 and Sh3 and piece of paper with installing instructions. Manuals are in pdf format.

For reasons known only to them Amazon.com won't ship PC games to Canadian addresses. If you want a "Starforce-less" version of SH3 try NWS Online Combat Gaming Store at this address: http://yhst-12000246778232.stores.yahoo.net/ . I've dealt with them quite a bit in the past & they ship to Canada and are fast & reliable. I bought a 1.4b, no Star Force copy of SH3 several months ago. Just remember to ask for that version.

Thanks for your help, fellas.

Unfortunately, my VIIC is in drydock until I can get my paws on a non-Starforce version. When I install and delete the starforce drivers, the game insists on rebooting, which in turn re-installs the offending drivers.

So I will order a new copy from the gaming site.

In any case, am now playing SH4, and all I can say is WOW.
